Sometimes there are problems after injury or plaster cast; the wrist or the fingers may be stiff, there can be feelings of tightness, cramps or even pain in the hand. Sometimes the fingers start to bend. The hospitals don’t always know or use the right rehabilitation, and then the next option is an operation.
That happened with my left hand. My fingers started to bend when the wrist was in plaster cast. The hospital followed the recommendations given for Dupuytren’s contracture, and observed the situation. Stiffened fingers were operated eight moths later, but the same problems started to recur. By chance I got the first right stretch and appropriate splints in a shop, and found some efficient stretching exercises also my self.
When, 3 years later I broke my right wrist, I needed again the same exercises but could prevent other problems, because my fingers were still flexible.
The book is based on the blog I started to write in 2011. However, this book contains more exercises, more information concerning the first case, the new second hand rehabilitation case, and the instruction how to make yourself a PE foam disc, the best tool for elimination of stiffness from the fingers.
