Marta Stephens, a native of Argentina but a life-long resident of the American Midwest, began her career as a fiction writer in 2003. The desire to journal her thoughts evolved into a life-changing passion that has led to the birth of her Sam Harper Crime Mysteries and her debut novel, Silenced Cry. She also has several short stories and flash fictions to her credit.
Stephens lives in the Midwest with her husband, their daughter, son and three very spoiled Boston Bull Dogs. She has a degree in Journalism/Public Relations, is a member of Sisters in Crime, Deadly Prose Critique Group and The Midwest Writer's Workshop.
Aside from her writing, Stephens has earned several awards in local competitions for her oil paintings, enjoys gardening, antique collecting, graphic design, and sharing moments with friends. She is an avid reader and believes that learning is a life-long adventure.
